Over 300 new looks were showcased in Sydney last night at the Myer Spring Fashion Launch 2016. The stable of 72 models was headlined by face of Myer Jennifer Hawkins and starred international guest model and pink-haired sensation Fernanda Ly.
It was Myer’s biggest live fashion show to date, with over 1,000 invited guests at the Hordern Pavilion, and close to 2 million viewers who watched the action at home through social media. Guests included Myer designers Yeojin Bae, Johnny Schembri, Michelle Aznavorian of Misha Collection, Alex Perry, Edwina Robinson and Adrian Norris from Aje, Nerida Winter, and Viktoria Novak. Also in attendance were Myer Ambassadors Jodi Anasta, Kris Smith, Lauren Phillips, and Rachael Finch.
Fashion director Michael Azzollini styled the show, which featured a set “punctuated by a breathtaking and futuristic neon light display.” The theme of the night was “romantic and high-luxe designs… celebrating the first signs of spring.” Floral prints flourished on the set, from micro petal prints to oversized florals.
Hawkins opened the Myer Spring Fashion Launch 2016 in Maticevski, striding out of a tunnel to the beat of electro trio Safia.
Riots of colour ensued with designs by Oscar de la Renta, Roksanda, and Emilio Pucci.
White Suede and Self Portait also showcased some very interesting headpieces.
