International milliner Iva Ksenevich has just released part 2 of her look book for 2017.
As with part 1, it features original pieces from her three collections: “Met” has geometrical designs, “W Day” is suitable for weddings, and “Birds” draws inspiration from nature. All in all, there are 45 unique pieces in the 2017 collection.
Iva says she was also inspired by London, Paris, and Milan, some of the fashion capitals of the world. “I wanted to create this ‘wow’ effect, experiment with forms, yet leave it wearable.”
“The hat with the flowers (of course I collected them myself) was inspired by Milano Opera House – La Scala. They had such flower installations with roses the last time I was there, and I thought it looked so beautiful!”
The installation was later on used as a catwalk by renowned Italian designers.
During our conversation with Iva, we mentioned a lovely detail that we noticed: her model’s eyes are different colours. “Yes the model has natural double colour of the eyes, and I also thought it looks striking. (The late) David Bowie had the same thing, and I have even named one of the hats after him — David B.”
Iva is understandably excited at the moment: she is currently in Paris, shooting the “Gall” piece for Harpers Bazaar. Also possibly in the works is a feature in Vogue Paris — she has already received an inquiry regarding her look book. “I’m actually really happy that my creations attract the eye of world-renowned professionals!”
Parts 1 and 2 of the look book were both shot by fashion photographer Anton Kuznetsov. He is based in Belarus and has worked with brands like Nike and Adidas, and several fashion magazines.
