Your Complete Guide to the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2016

It’s not that you’ll really need it, unless you’re a member of the press or an invited designer, but I figured you might want to keep an eye out for your favourite Australian designers. Or, you know, maybe you’re feeling a bit frisky and you want to look out for new talent (like when trying to decide what to wear to the races). Either way, it’s always a good idea to know who’s going to be presenting when (knowledge is power!). After all, there will be over 60 designers at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2016. It might be a little hard to keep track.

The show opens on Sunday, May 15th at 4 pm with Toni Maticevski, who is this year’s “Mercedes-Benz Presents” designer. Rounding up the entire event will be no less than Oscar de la Renta on Friday, May 20th at 8 pm. There will be an after-party, of course, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to keep track of that.

This year’s theme is Resort, a significant departure from the traditional Spring/Summer collections of years past. You’ll also note that the event is now being held in May instead of the usual April. Change is good. After all, Australian Fashion Week has now been on for 20 years.

Without further ado, here is the complete list of events happening at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2016. (You might also want to check out my Top 13 Australian Fashion Designers for the event — I do have my favourites, too.)
